Unix box and 41 error

I have a Unix client that is failing with a 41 error. Following the troubleshooting guide, we created the log folder for bpbkar and set VERBOSE in bp.conf. When it failed, we looked at the end of the log and this is what we found:

I had the Unix team put the LOCKED_FILE_ACTION = SKIP in bp.conf just to see what happened
I am not a Unix person, so I am not sure what any of this is. This the particulars

Master and Media servers running Windows 2003 and 6.5.2A

Unix client running 6.5

As I was typing this it failed again. The next step in troubleshooting is to increase the CLIENT_READ_TIMEOUT and CLIENT_CONNECT_TIMEOUT. They are set at default at the moment (300 seconds). Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I should set them to?

Anyway To Play WMV on Linux ?

Hello,

First before i begin i know that that WMV is a microsoft standard, but the fact is i still have some WMV films which i would like to play on linux, here is what i have tried to do to overcome the problem:

1. Obviously i first tried to change the format, to .avi but when i do this i again only see the film for about a minute and then it causes and error ( dont ask what kind) but overall it did not do much.

2. I downloaded a program that claimed it could play wmv files on Linux i think it was here http://www.medium-player-download.de.
If there are any other suggestions i am all ears.

Salut,

moi c'est Sonic, je suis développeur dans la vie et passionné par les sécurités des systèmes d'informations.

J'ai rencontré plusieurs personnes expert en sécurité dans le cadre de mon boulot ce qui m'a motivé à me renseigner sur le sujet. J'avais déjà fouiné un peu avec des trucs comme cain ou encore ophcrack ou wireshark mais il me manque bcp de connaissances. Donc j'aimerai apprendre, comprendre et mettre en œuvre des techniques ... bref faut que je me creuse un peu la tête. Mais je pense que ca en vaut la peine, le défis technique est là !! ya plus qu'a comme on dit !!

allé ! longue vie au forum !! j'espère pouvoir un jour apporter ma pierre à cet édifice !!

How can I change my root password?

initially installed SUSE using the same password for root as my normal everyday login. I think this is causing problems using su - in the command line. I can log in as root if I use a terminal or re-start the computer.

Can you direct me how to go about changing my root password so that my root and everyday normal password are seperate

Je suis sur ubuntu et j'ai suivi ce tutoriel pour cracker une clé WEP

Voici des capture d'ecran sur les trois onglet de konsole que j'ai

Comme vous voyez, à la fin après avoir exécuté aircrack-ng -x *.cap *.ivs j'obtient ce message d'erreur
Opening *.ivs
open failed: No such file or directory

cela veux dire que le systeme n'a pas encore généré de fichier ivs ? ou bien j'ai manqué un truc?

Bon alors j'ai un problème avec airdecap

je n'arrive pas a décrypter une capture faite avec airodump-ng

pourtant j'ai ciblé une BSSID
j'ai chopé le handshake

puis j'ai fait airdecap avec -p -b -e *.cap

et la il ne décrypte rien ...il identifie le paquets WPA mais ne des décryptent pas...

C'est pour ca que j'aimerai savoir si chez vois ca marche ?

et si oui ce qui ne vas pas chez moi ...

faudrait il que ce cible une seule station durant la capture ?

bonjours!

alors voila, j'ai piraté ma livebox avec backtrack. j'ai obtenu ma clé wep assez facilement.
puis je suis revenu sous windows vista ( je précise ) car j'étais en liveCD, je rentre ma clé wep et tada ! ca marche. le problème est que quand mon autre pc est sur internet moi je peux pas y aller et quand j'y suis c'est l'inverse.
de ce fait, un message qui vous parlera ^^ s'affiche : un conflit d'adresse ip a été détecté etc...
j'ai essayé de résoudre ce problème avec la solution d'aller dans panneau de config pour changer l'adresse IP du réseau seulement le problème est que j'ai deux adresse différentes : IPV4 et IPV6

Comment je fait pour changer mon adresse et éviter que mes deux ordi rentre en conflit???

C'est mon premier message sur ce forum et je pause déjà une question

Voila j'aurai aimé savoir si il existait un logiciel sous Linux, et Open Source de préférence, qui permettrai de scanner toute la bande de fréquence wifi, afficher le résultat, de manière pseudo graphique ou graphique.

Cela permettrai d'étudier le lieu le plus propice a l'installation d'un routeur wifi, ou de voire pourquoi, j'ai une très importante perte de signal chez moi.

J'ai fais quelques recherches sur ce sujet j'ai trouvé inSSIDer :

Sauf que ce logiciel est sous Windows et qu'il est payant.

Il existe cependant une bêta gratuite mais je ne suis pas arrivé a l'installer.

Sous Linux je n'ai rien trouvé ressemblant a cela ...

Hi All,

I am sharing a funny incident of my life. It happened at the time when I was studying.

So it was an ordinary day at school, and I was going to my locker in between fifth and sixth hour for the school-wide locker clean-out. I didn't have much to clean, I just emptied my locker of a few homework assignments that seemed to be hiding in the back. So I was done cleaning and I went to my sixth hour class, which really isn't much of a class as it is independent study. Its just me and two other kids who were in seventh grade and take pre-calculus.

Well, the room I go to for sixth hour is a science room, so there are a few safety apparatuses to use, just in case:

There is an eye wash station if you get chemicals in your eye and a ventilation whood if you're working with things that give off fumes. The last safety device is the safety shower, which is nothing more than a slight depression in the floor where there is a drain, a showerhead overhead, and this metal rod thing that you pull which releases an enormous gush of water. I think you use it if your clothes get on fire or if you accidentally spill chemicals on yourself.

Anyhoo, I was walking around the room, reading some science comics that were plastered to the wall. Well, I happened to slip on a rogue piece of cardboard that was lying on the floor, and I was spiralling out of control right towards the safety shower. I had no other choice, and plus I was a bit disoriented because I was spinning, so I grabbed on to the metal rod to stop myself from falling and WOOOOOSH A hundred gallons of cold water come down all over me!

I was standing there, not knowing what to do, and finally the teacher walks into the room and nearly drops his coffee. I was sent to the nurse and she gave me a big towel to wrap myself in. The nurse called my mom to let her know what happened, and she picked me up from school about twenty minutes later.

The worst part wasn't me getting wet, oh no. When I activated the safety shower, the door to the classroom was open, and you could see me directly from the doorway! There was a whole crowd of people outside the adjacent classroom, and they started laughing!

Hacking via Querystring

Hi All,

My website is under attack, and someone is trying to hack via querystring. Luckily all of his attempts have failed. He is trying to put sql statements through querystring. These parameters fetch value from database. I know he is trying to execute something, and if you can please let me know how to deal with these issues strongly in the future.

My Questions:-

1) How to interpret whats in the querystring, which tool should be used to know what that statement means.

2) More than likely, he is trying to delete all tables(with out even knowing their names ) in the database, but the query is only a select one, so another question, is it likely that select command can delete the tables??? I dont think so. Then the question arises, what is he trying to achieve???

3)What can be done to prevent such attacks in future, as of now I am checking querystring parameters for their respective datatypes and lengths. But what could be done to strengthen security. In other words how to deal with querystring and ADO more securely.

All Ideas welcome.

Windows 7 RAM Problem

Hey, I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit and I have 6GB of Kingston HyperX RAM on my motherboard which is a ASUS P6T SE which can have 24GB of RAM, but Windows 7 is only saying there is 4GB of RAM, but when I run CPUZ is says I have 6GB. Anyone know what might be wrong?

J'ai un Dell Vostro 1710, muni d'une carte wifi intégrée mini-PCi dont le jeu de puce est BCM4315/BCM22062000

Apperemment, et selon mes recherches, c'est pas la plus cool en terme de compatibilité...Mais j'ai crus comprendre dans http://linuxwireless.org/en/users/Driver...fw-bcm43xx qu'elle est assimilable à la BCM4312, et donc prise en charge sous certains reseau wifi (n et g mais pas a).

bref, tout ca m'est un peu flou, mais j'aurais besoin de savoir si il y'a une solution pour faire marcher ma carte wifi, et si oui, qu'elle est elle ??

par aileurs, si celle ci n'est vraiment pas prise en charge, je me redirigerais sur une carte wifi en USB, comme cité dans les autres posts...

Mais j'ai vraiment besoin que cette carte marche...Please :'(

My friend had XP SP2 OS installed in my PC. Now he installed ubuntu OS But now whenever he login its taking him directly to Ubuntu. How can I login to XP OS? Please give him proper advise.
